“Ben Miles is all over Snoop’s stuff,” Miles said. “I found every guy around him is a former coach or player, and he runs a league of youth football and provides opportunities for young people. “I defend his music, and am much more a fan of the person.”
Snoop Dogg is a wonderful father, a great supporter youth football, a talented rapper, no doubt. He's also associated with some things that aren't typically held in high regard. Only in America, as Don King says.
In 2000, Snoop (as "Michael J. Corleone") directed Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle, a pornographic film produced by Hustler. This film, combining hip-hop with X-rated material, was a huge success and won "Top Selling Release of the Year" at the 2002 AVN Awards. Driven by this success, Snoop directed Snoop Dogg's Hustlaz: Diary of a Pimp in 2002 (this time using the nickname "Snoop Scorsese"). He admitted in a Rolling Stone article that he was an actual professional pimp in 2003 and 2004, saying "That shit was my natural calling and once I got involved with it, it became fun. It was like shootin' layups for me. I was makin' 'em every time." He goes on to say that...he eventually gave up pimping to spend more time with his family.
Isn't that what the great ones all say when they walk away?
To may way of thinking (and I could be wrong), associating with Snoop Dogg is a smart move by Les Miles. All football programs are tied in with shoe companies and other corporate sponsors, but really good ones embrace rap stars who bring a little (and maybe more) taste of their lifestyle to these young men, who might otherwise sign with a school that conspires to make college not fun.
Love that he "provides opportunities for young people." Pimping is a boon to the economy.

Wait! Didn't we see too many images of Snoop at Trojan practices? I though Snoop was Pete Carroll's homeboy. Cozying up to the coach who called out 'SC and the Pac-10 isn't going to sit well with the folks on Figueroa.
